By accessing or using UniConnect (uniconnect.ca), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use our services. These terms apply to all users: students seeking advice ("Students"), student consultants providing advice ("Consultants"), and all visitors to our website.
UniConnect is an online marketplace that facilitates video consultations between Indian students planning to study abroad and verified current university students abroad. We provide: a matching platform connecting students with consultants; video calling infrastructure for consultations; an AI-powered study abroad advisor; SOP review tools; university comparison and research tools; and payment processing for session fees.
UniConnect is a platform, not a counselling agency. We do not provide educational counselling services directly. Consultants share their personal experience and knowledge — this does not constitute professional advice.
To use certain features, you must create an account with accurate information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. One account per person — multiple accounts are not permitted.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, provide false information, or engage in abusive behavior.
Payments are processed through Stripe in USD. You may end a session at any time. If you end during the free trial, you owe nothing. Charges are calculated per second after the 5-minute free period. Billing occurs immediately after the session ends.
You are entitled to a full refund if:
• The consultant fails to join the session within 5 minutes of the scheduled time.
• The session is disrupted by technical issues on our platform (not your internet connection).
• The consultant provides verifiably false information about their enrollment status.
Refund requests must be submitted within 48 hours of the session. Refunds are processed within 5-7 business days to your original payment method. Disagreements about the quality of advice do not qualify for refunds, as consultants share personal experience which is inherently subjective.
Eligibility: Consultants must be currently enrolled at a recognized university abroad or have graduated within the past 12 months. Enrollment is verified via university email.
Conduct: Consultants must provide honest information based on their personal experience. Consultants must not misrepresent their qualifications, university, or course. Consultants must not guarantee admission outcomes, visa results, or scholarship awards. Consultants must not solicit students for off-platform transactions.
Payouts: Consultants receive 80% of session fees via Stripe Connect. Payouts are processed weekly. Consultants are responsible for their own tax obligations.
Students acknowledge that: advice from consultants is based on personal experience and may not apply to your specific situation; UniConnect does not guarantee admission to any university, visa approval, or scholarship awards; all university data, tuition fees, and statistics on our platform are approximate and should be verified with official sources; and decisions about education are ultimately your own responsibility.
Our AI-powered features (AI Advisor and SOP Reviewer) are provided as informational tools. AI-generated responses are based on training data and may not reflect the most current information. The SOP Reviewer provides automated feedback and should not replace human review from admissions experts. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or applicability of AI-generated content.
You may not: harass, abuse, or threaten other users; use the platform for any illegal purpose; share login credentials or allow unauthorized access to your account; record video sessions without explicit consent from both parties; use automated tools to scrape our platform; provide false identity or enrollment information; circumvent our payment system for off-platform transactions; or post or share offensive, discriminatory, or hateful content.
All content on UniConnect — including text, data, tools, design, logos, and code — is owned by UniConnect or its licensors. University data, rankings, and statistics are compiled from publicly available sources and attributed accordingly. You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit our content without written permission.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, UniConnect shall not be liable for: decisions made based on consultant advice or AI-generated content; admission outcomes, visa results, or scholarship decisions; technical issues with third-party services (Stripe, Daily.co, etc.); loss of data due to circumstances beyond our control; or indirect, incidental, or consequential damages of any kind.
Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to UniConnect in the 12 months preceding the claim.
For disputes between students and consultants, we will mediate in good faith. For disputes with UniConnect, we encourage resolution through our contact form or email first. If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, and subject to the jurisdiction of courts in Ontario.
Either party may terminate the relationship at any time. You can delete your account through Account Settings or by emailing us. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately. Any pending matters will be resolved according to our policies.
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Significant changes will be communicated via email to registered users at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of UniConnect after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
